My Place in Geolocation

The UK public now expects to find real places in the digital world. We use online store locators to find an address, tap it into our sat-nav and (some of us) check in on Facebook when we get there. Just by doing this there is an expectation that the places we visit in the real world will match up with what we see online. Put simply, when we visit a street we expect it to be the same as its Google Place. Geolocation is one of the newest technologies currently being used by the British public so it’s not yet part of people’s everyday understanding the email, SMS or postcodes...

We put Geolocation in its place.

Yesterday I sat on the panel of one Leeds Digital Festival’s  famous Digital Lunches. I was pleased to be invited by Simon Wilson (@idlesi) to sit on the ‘Putting Geolocation in its place’ panel at Leeds Digital Festival to throw around some thoughts with some great minds in Geolocation. Geeks (l33t) The indigenous population of the web, known to us as Geeks, call themselves the l33t. They have lived in the web for...

The Activity People – Digital Strategy

I’ve recently been helping The Activity People, a small business in Harrogate, organise their digital communications strategy. I’ve given them some pointers on email and blog content and set them up with an email system. They’ve just started adding these articles to their blog and emailing them out to their customers. If you’re interested in a great time like Clay Pigeon Shooting, Karting or even Zorbing check out their site. The ever reliable Max Pouncy did the email design and the blog is The Activity People’s...
